What is the III Fellowship?
The Fellowship is the highest level of the Insurance Institute of India (III) professional certification, above Licentiate and Associateship. You qualify by reaching 490 cumulative credit points.
Which papers do I need for the Fellowship?
You must pass any ONE compulsory actuarial paper (for example IC-28 Foundation of Actuarial Science), then add optional subjects to reach 490 cumulative credits. The Fellowship builds on your Associateship credits.
Do I need the Associateship first?
Yes. The Fellowship is the third and final level — its 490 cumulative credits include the 250 from your Associateship. You add one actuarial paper plus optional subjects on top.
What is the exam format and pass mark?
Each paper is an online multiple-choice exam of 120 minutes for 100 marks. You need 60% to pass, with a distinction at 75%. No negative marking; a calculator is allowed. Confirm the current format against the latest III notification.
Is Certena affiliated with III or IRDAI?
No. Certena is an independent exam-preparation tool and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or officially connected to the Insurance Institute of India (III) or IRDAI.
