What is the III Associateship?
The Associateship is the specialist (second) level of the Insurance Institute of India (III) professional certification, above the Licentiate and below the Fellowship. You qualify by reaching 250 cumulative credit points, including your Licentiate.
Do I need the Licentiate first?
Yes. The Associateship builds on the Licentiate — the 250 cumulative credits include the 60 you earned at Licentiate. You add the Associateship compulsory papers plus optional subjects on top.
Which papers do I need for the Associateship?
Two compulsory papers for your stream — Life: IC-22 Life Insurance Underwriting and IC-26 Life Insurance Finance; General: IC-45 General Insurance Underwriting and IC-46 General Insurance Accounts. You then add optional subjects to reach 250 cumulative credits.
What is the exam format and pass mark?
Each paper is an online multiple-choice exam of 120 minutes for 100 marks. You need 60% to pass, with a distinction at 75%. No negative marking; a calculator is allowed. Confirm the current format against the latest III notification.
