The 30-Day IC-38 Study Plan (Free, Using Certena)
You do not need three months to clear the IRDAI IC-38 agent exam — you need a focused month and a clear plan. This is a realistic 30-day schedule you can run entirely on the free plan at Certena. If you are brand new, first skim how to become an insurance agent in India and the IC-38 syllabus and pass marks.
Before you start (Day 0)
Create a free account, choose the IC-38 program, and open the Study Plan. Set your target date 30 days out so the app paces you automatically. IC-38 is roughly 50 questions with no negative marking and a modest pass mark — very clearable in a month of steady effort.
Week 1 — Cover the ground (Days 1–7)
Learn the syllabus in order, one topic block per day, using untimed practice and chapter notes:
- Days 1–2: Insurance fundamentals — risk, principles, how insurance works.
- Days 3–4: Life insurance products and how they are sold.
- Days 5–6: Regulation, IRDAI, the agent's role and code of conduct.
- Day 7: Light review + your first diagnostic mock to see where you stand.
Read every explanation as you go — that is where the learning is.
Week 2 — Practise hard (Days 8–14)
Now switch from learning to doing. Aim for a set of timed practice questions each day, and let your weak areas on the Home screen steer you — spend extra time wherever you score below the pass mark. By the end of the week you should have practised across the whole syllabus at least once.
Week 3 — Mock and mend (Days 15–21)
Alternate: one day a full mock, the next day fixing whatever it exposed. After each mock, review every wrong answer and let those questions flow into your Revision queue. This is the fastest-improving week if you are honest about your gaps. For the technique, see the IC-38 mock-test strategy for a first-attempt pass.
Week 4 — Sharpen and simulate (Days 22–28)
- Daily revision — clear your spaced-repetition cards each morning; this stops you forgetting Week 1 material.
- Two or three more mocks, treating each like the real thing (quiet room, full timer). Practise pacing so you never run out of time — see how to manage your time in the online exam.
- You want to be consistently above the pass mark, not just once.
Final 2 days (Days 29–30)
No cramming. Do one relaxed mock, clear your revision cards, re-read only your flagged weak topics, and rest before exam day. Confidence comes from having already sat the exam several times in practice.
